Your complete guide to Google My Client Center (MCC)

The AdWords Client Center (MCC – My Client Center) is an effective tool designed to simplify the simultaneous management of multiple GA accounts.

MCC is a type of Google AdWords accounts. It can include several common accounts, making it easier to manage them (through one interface). The name “customer center” speaks for itself. It’s a place where advertisement accounts for clients are collected and managed in a more convenient format. You no longer have to constantly migrate from one account to another and store a lot of access data (logins and passwords).

 

The Client Center is not used to create ads, but for effective Google AdWords management (creating new accounts, editing or deleting existing accounts, viewing statistics, comparing, etc.).

Why do we need an MCC (My Client Center)?

The Client Center has many advantages that help save time and make it easier to manage multiple accounts.

Access levels. As with AdWords accounts, you can give people different access levels. The first is administrative with the right to add and remove any user, including you. Be careful. The second is standard, with no right to add or delete users, but with the ability to make changes to any account. The third one provides access to reports without the right to modify the account. When you grant a user access through the Client Center, he can see the Client Center and any subordinate centers. If you give someone access to a subordinate level MCC, they will not see a higher level MCC.

Account management. If a user already has an AdWords account, then you will need to send them an offer to link their account to yours. After you send him an invitation, his account will display a message by clicking on it to give you permission to link their accounts. Once linked, you can enjoy all the benefits of the Customer Centre.

Accounts creation. Linking accounts can take a long time if you have hundreds or thousands of accounts. Instead of creating accounts individually and then tying them together, you can create them directly in the Customer Center so that they are linked from the beginning.

Budget management. The “Budget” tab allows you to see the costs for each account. In addition, if you use an invoicing method or other payment methods other than a credit card, you can change the amount of monthly expenses, find out what percentage of the budget has already been spent, and access other options using this tab (Figure 14.2).

Alerts. If there’s a problem with your account, Google will display alerts at the account level. In the Customer Center, you can view alerts for all accounts on one screen, making it easy to troubleshoot problems.

Reports and accounts control. In Customer Center, you can create reports for all accounts at once. If you’re a big advertiser and need five different accounts, this can save you a lot of time. Instead of logging into each of them, you can create reports that contain data from all accounts. You can select the type of report and specify the accounts that you want to include in them.

Can’t we use one account for several sites instead of MCC?

No. If you have more than one site, make sure you create different accounts for them in Google Adwords.

First of all, it will make it easier for you to manage statistics, analytics of advertising campaigns.

Secondly, you will be able to add to each account a manager who will be able to manage the campaign, make certain changes and will not see information on other accounts.

Thirdly, it is just convenient, because everything is logical and structured. Especially it is relevant for large-scale projects such as online stores, supermarkets, where there are many categories and directions and for them to do different advertising campaigns.

Who is the MCC suitable for?

To third parties (freelancers) that provide services to launch and manage context advertising in GA.

Advertisers who regularly receive requests from their colleagues, friends, acquaintances to help set up or manage the context in AdWords.

Companies that have several working accounts in GA.

Entrepreneurs who own more than one business.

Where is it located?

To access your MCC AdWords account, you need to log in to your Google AdWords account and click on “Customer Center”.

Here you will see a list of all the campaigns that you have, they are collected in one place. To start working with any of them, just click on it once. If you need to quickly move to another account, in the upper left corner find the “Accounts” button and select the desired one from the drop-down list.

How to create an MCC AdWords account

A new or “clean” account (Gmail) is required to register with the SMS Client Center. By “clean” we mean mail that was not previously used in Google AdWords.

For the creation of the client center of AdWords it is necessary:

Sign out of all Google Accounts (if you don’t remember their password, open your browser in Incognito mode).

Go to http://www.google.com/intl/ru/adwords/myclientcenter/.

Click the button “Register”.

After you are redirected to the AdWords Client Center setup page, fill in all necessary data (mail, name, the purpose of the SMS, country, time zone and currency).

Then click the “Save and continue” button.

Confirm your e-mail (click on the link indicated in the received letter).

After confirming the mail, you will be able to safely log in to your new account. 

How to grant access to an MCC Google account (My Client Center) 

Go to https://adwords.google.com. Enter your login details.

  1. Go to “Tools”
  2. Go to the “Account Access” page.

The next step is to send an invitation.

How to connect the accounts of your clients

To start Google AdWords management, you need to access their accounts. If a customer already has a working Google AdWords account, you need to connect them to your customer center using their AdWords customer id number. If the client hasn’t previously worked with context ads, they need to create a new account.

How to connect an existing account:

  1. First, you need to know the identification number of your account. It is located in the upper right corner (above the mail) in AdWords personal cabinet and represents the value consisting of 10 digits.
  2. Then you need to add the client account to MCC. To do this, click on the “Accounts” tab.
  3. Select the “Management” tab.
  4. Click on the blue plus and select “Link an existing account”.
  5. Enter client IDs (in the column, one in each row if there are more than one).
  6. Click the Send Invitation button.
  7. Then you need to confirm your request. To do this, in the settings of the client account, go to the “Access to accounts” tab.
  8. Confirm the request.

 

Done! When confirming access, rights are also specified (for example, administrator rights or read-only).

How to create a new account:

  1. On the “Account” – “Management” tab, click on the blue plus sign.
  2. Touch “Create a new account.
  3. Then go through the standard procedure to create a new account.

Once the new account appears in the list of available accounts, you can click on its name and go directly to the advertising office itself. Here you will already be able to create and run ads for the selected account.

AdWords Client Center is one of the most popular services for managing contextual ads on Google. It allows you to work simultaneously with several accounts of your clients faster and more efficiently.

If you manage multiple GA accounts, make sure you create an MCC Google account and grant management access to make your work easier.
